PARAGUAYAN FILM “7 CAJAS” PREMIERES AT
SECOND ANNUAL FILADELFIA LATIN AMERICAN FILM FESTIVAL

Philadelphia, PA (Monday, April 8, 2013) – The Filadelfia Latin American Film Festival (FLAFF) presents 7 CAJAS, winner of the 2013 Miami Film Festival Audience Award and sponsored by The Philadelphia Foundation and University of the Arts. Festival schedule information and tickets are available online at flaff.org.

7 CAJAS is a Paraguayan film about young Victor, a wheelbarrow goods transporter at the Municipal Market in Asuncion, Paraguay, an incredible labyrinth of stalls and stores that cover almost eight blocks. By chance, Victor is hired to transport seven mysterious boxes with unknown contents through the Market. Soon, mobsters, a thief, an evil rival wheelbarrow leader, and even the police are after Victor. With help from his friends, Victor escapes, while coming to realize that the darkness hidden in the seven boxes may not be worth the new mobile phone he plans to buy with the payoff money. This is an adventure both fast and fun. The otherworldly sounding mix of Spanish and Guaraní give the film a unique flavor, one of raw revelation and authenticity.
